During D&R we re-flash every penetration on the new roof with high-temp underlayment.
Microinverters are rated 12-15 years. String inverters even less. If yours is 8+ years old, it’s producing 5-15% under spec already.
During reset we pull diagnostics. If the inverter is failing, you replace it now while the panels are off, not later.
Once panels go back on, you don’t see them again for years. Detach & reset is the once-a-decade window where the panels are in our hands, the wiring is exposed, and the roof is bare. Skipping the inspection now means catching problems on a $5K service call later.
