When it finally became necessary to replace our roof, I was pleasantly suprised to find one company who would coordinate with our roofing contractor to handle the disconnection, removal and reinstallation of all of our solar equipment, regardless of the manufacturer. ReGrid's project coordination was absolutely seamless. The photovoltaic panels were removed on Thursday, the water heater was removed on Friday, the tear-off and partial reshingle of the roof was completed on Saturday and the water heater was reinstalled on Sunday. We actually had running hot water again by 6:00 PM Sunday evening. No. We coordinate vetted local roofing partners and handle the solar side ourselves: removing your panels before the roof work and reinstalling them after. You get one team managing both so nothing falls through the cracks.
What does the solar detach and reset cost?+
It depends on your system size and roof. We give you a clear number up front during the free review, before any work starts. No surprise line items.
Will this work with an insurance claim?+
Often, yes. Storm roof damage is a common covered claim. We can document the damage and coordinate with your roofer so the timing lines up. We are not your adjuster, but we make the contractor side simple.
How fast do the panels go back on?+
Your solar goes back on and gets re-commissioned a few days after the new roof is finished, usually three to seven days after the roof work depending on the crew's schedule and inspections. We keep you in the loop the whole time.
