LA County housing runs the full spectrum from 1920s Spanish Revival in Hancock Park to 2020s all-electric custom builds in Pacific Palisades. The January 2025 Palisades and Eaton fires destroyed thousands of homes across Pacific Palisades, Altadena, and parts of Malibu, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and Topanga, and the rebuild pipeline is now running on a different track than the rest of the market. LADWP launched the HOME LA pilot program in August 2025 offering up to $10,000 per single-family home for all-electric rebuilds, plus $5,000 for whole-home batteries. New construction in the Palisades requires underground-electric-ready service. South of the fire zones, the San Fernando Valley and South Bay carry typical LA mid-century housing with composition shingle and the occasional tile, while Pasadena, San Marino, and the older Westside neighborhoods have heavier concentrations of clay tile.
LA work is unusually varied. Pre-fire Palisades and Altadena solar reset jobs that paused after January 2025 are slowly resuming on properties that were undamaged or partially damaged. Rebuild work in those same neighborhoods starts at the foundation and includes new-construction solar coordination rather than reset. South Bay and San Fernando Valley work is the steady core of our LA volume: 22-to-32-panel arrays on shingle and tile resets where the array is 8-15 years old. Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley work runs heavier on clay tile with stricter design review in the historic overlays. We coordinate closely with LADWP and SCE depending on which utility serves the address, because the interconnection paths differ.
Our LA partner roofers include several established Westside and Valley CSLB-licensed shops with strong tile portfolios, plus a growing roster of fire-rebuild specialists working the Palisades and Altadena rebuild zones. Class A roof assembly experience is non-negotiable in the wildfire urban-interface zones, and most of our partners hold that certification. We also work with several South Bay shops covering Manhattan Beach through Long Beach.
